01 · The presenting picture

The history described pulling, unreliable recall, jumping and reactions to traffic and wheeled objects. Chasing and uncertainty during dog play were also reported.

During the visit Annie greeted excitedly, while the walk showed a marked traffic reaction and strong attention to birds.

02 · What the audit identified

The presenting picture required practical foundations and careful handling around movement. After the visit, the owners reported nipping at passers by, adding an important concern beyond the initial account. That later information could not be set aside because it was absent at the start.

03 · The Canine UK strategy

  • Build engagement and clearer lead communication.
  • Start foundations in manageable surroundings.
  • Address traffic and movement through controlled progression.
  • Include owner handling and appropriate safety management.

04 · Recommended pathway

  • The report proposed initial trainer led foundation work, followed by owner sessions and controlled excursions.
  • The available source records an assessment and a recommended pathway. It does not establish that the proposed sessions occurred or that the reported nipping and walking difficulties improved.

05 · Owner transfer and maintenance

The proposed owner role was to use consistent cues, practise manageable skills and carry the same handling into daily walks. Progression needed to account for the updated report about people.
