Canine UK
Service Terms
Version 2026-10-29-1. Effective from 29 October 2026.
These Service Terms apply to Behavioural Audits, one-to-one dog training sessions and Puppy Services.
Canine-UK Ltd, trading as Canine UK. Registered in England and Wales, company number 17453390. Registered office: 70 Newby Crescent, Harrogate, England, HG3 2TT.
1. Scope and formation of the agreement
These Service Terms apply only to Behavioural Audits, one-to-one dog training sessions and Puppy Services supplied by Canine UK. They do not apply to boarding, residential training, residential rehabilitation or another service unless Canine UK expressly confirms in writing that this version applies. The service, price, date, location, trainer and any service-specific conditions will be confirmed separately.
Submitting an enquiry does not itself create a booking. A booking is confirmed only when Canine UK confirms acceptance and any required payment has been received. These Service Terms, the booking confirmation and any service-specific agreement together form the agreement for the service.
Canine UK’s Website Terms of Use apply separately to use of the website.
2. Our service
Canine UK will perform the agreed service with reasonable care and skill. We assess the dog in front of us and shape our recommendations around the dog, the owner and the real-life context described and observed.
Dogs and circumstances differ. We do not promise a particular behavioural result or timescale. Progress can depend on health, history, environment, owner participation, consistency, management and other factors outside a session.
3. Information the owner must provide
The owner must provide complete and accurate information about the dog, including known bite or attempted-bite history, aggression, reactivity, resource guarding, escape or chase behaviour, health conditions, pain, medication, legal restrictions and any other matter that could affect safety or suitability.
The owner must tell Canine UK promptly if that information changes before or during the service. Canine UK may pause, change or end a session where undisclosed or changed circumstances create a material safety, welfare or suitability concern.
4. Owner responsibilities
The owner remains responsible for the dog’s care, supervision, control and compliance with applicable legal requirements throughout a Behavioural Audit, one-to-one training service or Puppy Service, except while a Canine UK trainer has taken direct handling control during a session.
The owner agrees to follow the safety and management arrangements demonstrated and agreed for their dog, to use equipment only as instructed, and to ensure that anyone handling the dog understands the relevant plan.
The owner is responsible for loss, injury or damage caused by their dog to the extent that responsibility is not caused or contributed to by Canine UK’s breach of contract, negligence or failure to exercise reasonable care and skill.
5. Health and veterinary matters
The owner must disclose known health concerns and medication and must ensure that the dog is fit to participate. Dog training and behaviour support do not replace veterinary diagnosis or treatment.
The owner is responsible for paying all veterinary bills and related treatment costs directly to the veterinary provider in the first instance, including treatment following an illness, injury or incident during or after a session. If Canine UK assists in arranging urgent treatment during a session, the owner remains responsible for payment to the veterinary provider. This does not prevent the owner from recovering a cost from Canine UK to the extent that the cost was caused by Canine UK’s breach of contract, negligence or failure to exercise reasonable care and skill.
6. Liability & indemnity
The owner acknowledges that a Behavioural Audit or training can reduce risk and improve understanding, management and handling, but it does not eliminate every behavioural risk or guarantee how the dog will behave in the future.
After a session, and whenever the dog is not under a Canine UK trainer’s direct handling control, the owner is responsible for the dog’s behaviour, care, supervision and control. Canine UK is not responsible for injury, loss, property damage or other loss caused by the dog after training or an Audit, except to the extent that it was caused by Canine UK’s breach of contract, negligence or failure to exercise reasonable care and skill.
The owner agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Canine UK and its trainers against third-party claims and reasonable losses, damages, liabilities and costs arising from the dog’s behaviour, injury caused by the dog, the dog going missing while in the owner’s care or control, or property damage caused by the dog. This indemnity applies only to the extent that the claim or loss was caused by the dog or the owner’s breach of these Service Terms. It does not apply to the extent that the claim or loss was caused or contributed to by Canine UK’s breach of contract, negligence or failure to exercise reasonable care and skill.
Canine UK is not responsible for a pre-existing condition, an undisclosed risk, the owner’s failure to follow the agreed safety plan, or an event that could not reasonably have been prevented through the exercise of reasonable care and skill.
Nothing in these Service Terms excludes or restricts liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, breach of the statutory duty to perform services with reasonable care and skill, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted. Nothing in these Service Terms affects the owner’s statutory rights.
7. Prices, payment, cancellation and refunds
The price, payment due date, any deposit, cancellation arrangements and refund terms that apply to a service will be stated in the booking confirmation or service-specific agreement before the booking is confirmed.
Nothing in these Service Terms removes any statutory cancellation or refund right that applies to the booking.
8. Sessions and safety decisions
Canine UK may pause, adapt, shorten or end a session where continuing would create an unreasonable safety or welfare risk, where required information has not been provided, or where the dog is not fit to participate. Any payment or rearrangement consequence will be handled under the approved cancellation and refund terms applying to that booking.
9. Training materials
Training plans, handouts, reports and other materials supplied by Canine UK are for the named client, dog and agreed purpose. They must not be sold, published, materially altered or used as instructions for another dog without written permission. This does not restrict any use permitted by law.
10. Privacy, photographs and marketing
Personal information is handled in accordance with Canine UK’s Privacy Policy. Any consent to use a client’s name, dog’s story, photographs or video for marketing will be requested separately and will not be treated as part of acceptance of these Service Terms.
11. Complaints
Please send any complaint to ask@canineuk.com. Canine UK will review the concern and respond through the contact details supplied by the client.
12. Changes and versions
The version accepted for a confirmed booking will be recorded. A later website update will not retrospectively replace the version already incorporated into that booking unless the client and Canine UK expressly agree the change.
13. Governing law
These Service Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. A consumer resident elsewhere in the United Kingdom may also benefit from mandatory protections available under the law that applies where they live. Nothing in these Service Terms limits any right regarding where proceedings may lawfully be brought.
