01 · The presenting picture
The programme record described work on pulling, fixation, barking and lunging, together with recall, settling and core commands.
Practice involved different handlers and environments, with attention to responses around dogs, people, movement and other animals.
02 · What the audit identified
The end assessment included everyday public settings and a reunion with family. The debrief identified lead slack, reward timing, realistic close walking and awareness of rising arousal as continuing owner skills.
03 · The Canine UK strategy
- Keep cues and release signals clear and consistent.
- Practise familiar behaviours in gradually harder settings.
- Balance focused work with reward, play and rest.
- Maintain physical backup while recall confidence develops.
04 · Observed progress
- The handover reported improved lead manners, voluntary crate entry, obedience, recall and reduced reactivity.
- Owner confidence and useful responses around distraction were recorded. These were observations at handover; continued practice and management remained necessary, and later maintained results are not documented.
05 · Owner transfer and maintenance
The owners were asked to preserve the demonstrated communication, avoid expecting prolonged close walking without support, and keep Bru engaged through manageable practice. The handover also emphasised confidence and recovery.
