01 · The presenting picture
The history described barking, pulling and reactions to people, dogs and traffic, alongside limited earlier environmental experience. Difficulty with confinement and destructive behaviour were also reported.
Bruno barked and appeared very nervous when the assessor arrived. He settled enough to greet, but sudden movement unsettled him again.
02 · What the audit identified
Pulling was observed during the walk. The reported lunging towards people, dogs and traffic was not witnessed in that assessment, and barking resumed on returning home. The distinction between history and observation helped define what still needed to be assessed through careful progression.
03 · The Canine UK strategy
- Build engagement in quieter, manageable settings.
- Develop predictable lead communication and familiar cues.
- Balance purposeful activity with rest.
- Introduce controlled distractions and visitor work gradually.
04 · Recommended pathway
- The report proposed individual foundation sessions, beginning with trainer work and later involving owner handling.
- The numbered programme was a recommendation. No completed sessions, later progress or change in the reported reactivity is established by the available source.
05 · Owner transfer and maintenance
The proposed owner work centred on consistent routines, clear cues and practice at a level Bruno could manage. The plan needed to transfer to the situations that were difficult at home.
