01 · The presenting picture

The audit described pulling, stalking and chasing towards dogs, unclear position work and recall that depended heavily on a visible toy.

It also recorded good motivation and existing commands, with no reported bite history or resource guarding at that assessment.

02 · What the audit identified

The assessment considered adolescent drive, extensive activity, limited rest and overlapping cue meanings together. It proposed fewer, clearer responses with a deliberate release and appropriate outlets for play.

03 · The Canine UK strategy

  • Rebuild close walking, recall and maintained positions.
  • Keep physical backup while foundations develop.
  • Interrupt stalking early through taught direction and manageable distance.
  • Balance structured play, calm observation and protected rest.

04 · Current course stage

  • James confirms that Dax completed the audit and then moved into an e collar course, which is still ongoing.
  • The course is not complete. No final outcome or unrestricted off lead reliability is claimed.

05 · Owner transfer and maintenance

The owners need to practise the same cues and release, maintain controlled dog exposure and record how Dax settles, recalls and recovers after activity.
