01 · The presenting picture
The programme addressed lead manners, recall, basic cues and reactions around people, dogs and traffic. Practice moved through varied everyday environments.
The handover also identified household window barking and fear responses that had not been fully addressed within the programme.
02 · What the audit identified
The practical debrief recorded useful responses in public settings and growing handler confidence. Some frustration remained around access to a bench and wanting to play with other dogs, so the record did not support a claim that all reactivity had ended.
03 · The Canine UK strategy
- Maintain clear commands and consistent reward timing.
- Practise in settings Murphy can manage without becoming overwhelmed.
- Use recall backup while confidence develops.
- Continue household work and individual owner handling support.
04 · Observed progress
- Improved lead manners, voluntary car entry, core obedience, recall work and reduced reactivity were reported at handover.
- Further work was explicitly needed on household behaviour and owner confidence. There is no later evidence showing that those outstanding areas were resolved.
05 · Owner transfer and maintenance
The owners' next task was to maintain the same communication and daily practice while addressing the situations that remained difficult. Handling support needed to reach everyone responsible for Murphy.
