01 · The presenting picture

The report described rapid arousal, vocal behaviour and difficulty maintaining communication around dogs. A redirection bite was part of the history and remained central to the safety plan.

Rogue could engage well with handling, food and tracking activities, but easier moments did not establish dependable responses during excitement.

02 · What the audit identified

The audit considered the interaction between arousal, equipment history, learned responses and handler clarity. The proposed work aimed to use his ability to engage while reducing situations in which intensity overwhelmed control.

03 · The Canine UK strategy

  • Establish safe handling and consistent cues across handlers.
  • Build calm positions and structured obedience in manageable settings.
  • Provide suitable tracking and controlled outlets for drive.
  • Progress dog and environmental exposure according to response and recovery.

04 · Recommended pathway

  • The primary source recommended foundation work and a professionally guided course.
  • An undated case summary describes the focus of intervention but provides no measured progress, completed course or later handover. It cannot establish the current programme stage.

05 · Owner transfer and maintenance

Owner work centred on recognising early escalation, keeping cues clear and practising the same handling system. Increased freedom depended on reliable responses with continued management of redirection risk.
