ProfileRecall, reactivity and owner handling at handover.
01 · The presenting picture
The programme record described work on lead pulling, fixation, lunging, barking and responses around distraction.
The transfer also needed a practical daily routine for training, rest and appropriate activity.
02 · What the audit identified
The debrief identified lead tension, timing and overworking as areas for the owners to keep improving. Long line support remained recommended while confidence in recall developed.
03 · The Canine UK strategy
- Practise clear recall, close walking and maintained positions.
- Use controlled work around dogs, people, traffic and movement.
- Transfer handling across people and environments.
- Balance short training sessions with reward, play and rest.
04 · Recorded handover progress
- The handover recorded improved lead manners, reduced reactivity, crate entry, recall and core obedience, alongside work with several handlers.
- The practical debrief recorded owner participation and continued areas to practise. It was a snapshot at handover and did not guarantee lasting results.
05 · Owner transfer and maintenance
The owners were asked to maintain the same commands, use physical backup where needed and improve calm handling without unnecessary tension or repeated pressure.
